My original PSU stop woking and shopped around for a replacement and searched online and found this! Its 200watts compared to the 200watts of the original and it is a little larger than the original and is quieter!

My original Shuttle SS51G power supply suddenly pooped out after only a couple of years of service. I'm not sure if this replacement power supply is just an odd-ball fluke, but it is a significantly noisier than the older unit! I see that other posters have commented on how quiet their PC40 is but this has unfortunately not been my experience. I believe this is the only replacement ps available for my model of Shuttle, so there really is no choice here to go with anything else. It is extremely annoying that I will have to modify a brand-new $70 power supply and swap out the fan to bring the noise down to an acceptable level.

I bought this PS as a replacement for my original SB51G PS, which I had modded two years ago to make it quieter. The original PS was one of the noisiest components in my XPC, before modification. The modded PS just gave up the ghost. Luckily, this power supply is almost as quiet, significantly quieter than the original, and runs much cooler. Temperatures within my case are noticeably lower. The extra wattage also helps with the high-powered graphics cards coming out these days. I highly recommend this unit if you are looking for ways to silence your older Shuttle XPC. My only caveat is that it is relatively pricey for a power supply (you're paying about a quarter of the price of the entire Shuttle just for a new PS). Newer model Shuttles come with this power supply as standard.
